And July arrived. It is the first time in my life during the summer that I stayed that much away from the sea and the model of “summer vacations”, that we used to have every summer in Greece. But somehow I don’t feel bad at all. When I decide to do my long term EVS in Târgu Frumos, Romania, I knew it is far from the sea side. And if I could measure everything, the opportunity of EVS was the most important. And I am happy I still believe that. The month was full again with activities in the youth center and in the local area. At the beginning of the month we had a very big and important seminar, called “Sports Activator”. More than 42 volunteers national and international where participated during this seminar. We had activities every day and during this I learnt a lot of new methods and exercises. Luni, 5 august 2019, am desfăşurat primul eveniment comunitar de promovare a mişcării - Sports Activator. Atelierele dezvoltate de cei 16 voluntari internaţionali, sprijiniţi de 10 voluntari locali, au implicat 52 de copii din Ruginoasa în jocuri şi activităţi prin care au învăţat despre nutriţie, educaţie fizică, viaţă sănătoasă şi Erasmus+ Sport. Evenimentul a fost un succes, copiii ne-au întrebat când mai venim, şi deşi am experimentat o vreme capricioasă cu soare puternic şi furtună, copiii au fost complet fascinaţi de jocurile experimentate în cele 4 ore de activităţi. Mulţumim gazdelor, dna Cristina Ioana Axinia de la Centrul Cultural Ruginoasa şi Primăriei Ruginoasa pentru sprijin şi resurse! Urmează să mergem în alte 9 comunităţi, în weekend ne pregătim pentru copiii şi tinerii din Cucuteni şi din Lungani! Between 1 August - 2 September 2019, we are hosting 15 volunteers from Bulgaria, Greece, Spain and Turkey. Together with 15 Romanian volunteers, they will develop a Experiential Sport Center, will promote sports and healthy lifestyle in 10 local communities and will develop an European Sport event that will be implemented in 5 countries.  Here you can check an album that presents the planning and preparation process for the volunteering activities.  To support the volunteers, we will involve 5 mentors. First of them is Victor Popa alias Domnul de Karate. Victor is from Bucharest, has 20 years experience in the field of sports and during his career worked with thousand of children. Update : Din păcate, în luna august, coordonatorii activităţii ne-au informat că nu mai doresc să cooperăm în proiectul Euroscola2019 deoarece elevii sunt implicaţi în prea multe activităţi.  Începând cu luna iulie 2019, centrul nostru de voluntariat găzduieşte şi încurajează iniţiativele a 27 de profesori şi elevi ai Liceului "Ion Neculce" din Târgu Frumos, care participă la concursul naţional Euroscola. Proiectul vizează dezvoltarea abilităţilor de leadership ale elevilor, prin antrenarea acestora în worshopuri de dezvoltare personală. La prima întâlnire nici nu am simţit cum au trecut 3 ore de activităţi. Am aflat mai multe informaţii unii despre alţii, am socializat, ne-am exprimat ideile şi am planificat. La final de atelier, în echipe tematice, cei 30 de tineri, profesori şi voluntari europeni implicaţi, şi-au asumat implementarea a 5 iniţiative: un eveniment săptămânal numit "Doctors of personal development", o activitate de igienizare Esplanad

În perioada 1-31 August 2019, Asociaţia Super Tineri (ASIRYS) va găzdui 14 voluntari (18+ ani) din Turcia, Grecia, Spania, Bulgaria, prin Programul Erasmus+ Sport. Tinerii vor desfăşura activităţi de voluntariat în domeniul sportiv, în Târgu Frumos şi în satele limitrofe (Ruginoasa, Butea, Oţeleni etc.). Aceştia vor amenaja un centru sportiv alternativ, vor dezvolta un concept de eveniment sportiv european şi îl vor implementa la nivel local şi în comunităţile din regiunea nord-est interesate. De asemenea, voluntarii vor desfăşura activităţi de educaţie nonformală pentru a încuraja mişcarea şi viaţa sănătoasă, în rândul copiilor şi tinerilor din comunităţile mici. Prin programul "Adoptă un Voluntar!" căutăm familii gazdă, din Târgu Frumos sau satele din apropiere, ce doresc să interacţioneze şi să găzduiască tineri europeni, pentru o perioadă de o lună de zile. And the summer came in Romania. June started with a lot of activities in our youth center and in other places near by. We had a lot of fun, we learnt a lot and we made new friends. After my mid-term evaluation, I had last months in Braşov, I realize  that this trip is about to end, I am at my 9th month of my EVS and I try to make every moment to count. At the beginning of the month we helped in an event in a castle near by, Miclăuşeni. We did a lot of activities for children like face painting or games. Ştefana (a local volunteer in our youth center) and me, we did together cotton candy. We worked for almost 8 hours non-stop but we didn't want to stop because we had so much fun. „Implică un sat, dezvoltă o ţară!” reprezintă misiunea Festivalului Folcloristica! Prin activităţi de educaţie non-formală şi voluntariat, Folcloristica promovează, integrează și revigorează tradițiile și obiceiurile ce stau la baza culturală a județului Iași. Evenimentul se adresează: artiştilor, producătorilor locali, meşterilor populari, voluntarilor, şcolilor, elevilor, primăriilor, instituţiilor culturale, ONG-urilor, şi oferă o scenă deschisă tuturor celor care vor să înveţe ori să împărtăşească informaţii, cunoştinţe şi abilităţi din patrimoniul cultural regional. In June, the Asirys Super Tineri association tackled various issues on education. Together with the volunteers, we talked about formal and non-formal education, where the first one can be observed in schools. For example the assignment of a grade, based on the abilities of the pupils, not considering the diversity of talent of the individual. We also talked about competitive and non-collaborative context. On the other hand, when talking about non-formal education methods, schemes that do not contain competition and obligation are applied, but the student himself is driven by his individual interests and abilities to collaborate with his colleagues in a group work, thus obtaining a common goal which is to grow and learn. Research on non-formal education has led to differentiate the types of intelligence. For example, based on the individual reasoning talent of each pupil, there are more mathematical minds and others more creative, musical or linguistic minds and other sports and kinesth

The month of June started with the Miclăuşeni Festival, which was a big event for families. Asirys was participating for different tasks that support the festival, like welcoming, candy floss, taking care of visitors. I was responsible of the media covering, including mainly the event video. It’s a task that I like because it’s related to one of my main skills, video recording and editing. Also because the environment was a really nice place for this, the castle providing a good storytelling potential. I recorded a lot of scenes that I edited during the month, which was a huge work but pretty enjoyable. The feedback was good so I was happy. We continue the workshops at the youth center and I was really excited to launch Iron Mind workshop, which is about convince and persuade art, manipulation, negotiation, body language. This month passed very quickly, because of all the activities we've done. I made many friends and I loved that I improved my level of English. I can express myself more fluently, although I still want to continue improving. We participated in a festival in a beautiful castle with the volunteers from Romania. I had to give a classical ballet lesson, but because there were other girls that could do it, I decided to do face painting for the kids. That reminded me of a job I had in Mexico on my weekends off. It was exciting because there were so many children. I am very happy to have Sabien, my roommate, because we have very similar ways of thinking and I can express my feelings with great confidence and she also to me. We went to a lake, we discovered a very cool cafe that is where we were going when we want to relax. I started to teach dances in a larger room than usual, which was extraordinary. Because I have more and more students, this room has no windows, which gives a fresh feel

La Cucuteni, mereu te cuprinde un sentiment inedit, unic, care te îmbie spre a descoperi și redescoperi din istoria și cultura noastră, însă în weekend-ul ce tocmai a trecut, am avut parte și de o experiență prin care am avut prilejul de a aminti de strămoșii noștri.  Festivalul Getodava a construit o atmosferă care ne-a întors pe toți cu câteva mii de ani în urmă, și am avut parte de ateliere și activități interactive, menite să ne aducă aminte de evoluția noastră de-a lungul timpului și cum am pornit spre ceea ce astăzi este România. Echipa de organizatori și voluntari a fost foarte bine pregătită, astfel că fiecare participant a reușit să aducă festivalului un plus, prin seriozitate, echilibru, implicare, dedicare, generozitate și energie. Toată lumea a știut ce are de făcut, au implicat publicul, au fost foarte deschiși cu oricine a dorit mai multe informații, fotografii sau o conversație interesantă.
