Arts Lab 5.0: Carla Ditmeyer, Bolivia - Month 3

The third month was very interesting, full of trips and new experiences.

We traveled to Moldova which is one of my favorite moments. It was a trip of only girls and it felt amazing because of the beautiful energies that everybody radiated. We did so many caravans and it was challenging at first because I collaborated with Olha on this project and at first our ideas were too difficult to accomplish in just 20 minutes.

At the end we used my box of stories but Olha had the good idea to draw some decorations there live. It brought so much to the initial idea because with Olha it made it more expressive and more concrete. Their stories became a bit more elaborate and that made us very happy.

My favorite moments were in Puhăceni and Chișinau, despite their differences I felt very at home with both. Puhăceni and their people will stay in my heart forever and I hope they will create an amazing and well deserved cultural house for their expression to grow even more. That trip and the memories from every place are still in my mind everyday and I’m happy about it because I never thought I would experience something like that in my life. Our organization also becomes better and better each time and I just admire everything that we accomplished on that trip.

Then we came back and it was our turn to continue with the Cucuteni Museum projects. It was my turn to film an audiovisual experimental video that I created with Dajana. We filmed with Violeta, Hajer and Sena as actresses and it was for sure challenging. It was too cold to film outside even if we put on too many layers. We couldn’t finish filming all the scenes that were planned but in the end I’m really grateful for the girls and their help. We showed a version during the exhibition but during my trip to Bolivia I changed it a bit. The final version is yet to be seen but I feel way more comfortable with the second editing since I had more time. I had to edit all of this in the airport and move around in another city because I didn’t have other options but to do it that way since I was on my way to Bolivia.

Despite the big amount of stress, I learned a lot and I hope to keep learning about this field in the future.

Carla Wara Ditmeyer Queteguari is from Bolivia, and she is participating in a six-month volunteering program within Arts Lab 5.0, a project co-funded by the European Union through the European Solidarity Corps.
