Arts Lab 7.0: Kerem Cam | Month I

I started my journey to see Cluj. I see beautiful botanical gardens which has amazing palm trees, I took a few photos there. I arrived in Targu Frumos before the sunrise. Ready to begin a new chapter.

Soon after, I met my new friends. We attended the Folcloristica event and Cucutani jazz event near our town. Also, Targu Frumos town is pretty flat so I have a fun time while I’m using my skateboard. Almost every day I learn interesting facts about different countries thanks to my friends. I think my friends represent their country in the finest form.

I designed a few games for colorblind and blind players. Children and games gained huge success. I was really amazed by the results. I worked very hard during the residencies in order to make a playable game. But during the residency I love seeing happy faces of the children while they are playing my game and having fun about it, and that feeling is too precious for me. When I see these moments I forget about how tired I was.

I also designed very cool postcards for Heleşteni town. I also learned how to ask questions in an interesting way in order to get the interviewer’s attention. And more importantly, I learned how to connect with people.

My future plan is to create amazing games with children. I learned children like cooperative games a lot. For the future, I want to create one VR game about creating terrariums.

Kerem Cam is from Turkey, and he is participating in a three-month volunteering program within Arts Lab 7.0, a project co-funded by the European Union through the European Solidarity Corps.
