Arts Lab 6.0: Sinem Sağdıç - Month 7

Salut! After seven months, I’m writing my final report. This project has been full of ups and downs for me — I experienced many emotions, faced different situations, and dealt with various challenges. It felt like living through all kinds of life experiences packed into just seven months. On top of that, it also involved art.

The most important lesson I learned from this project is that it’s important to keep learning and creating, but also to make sure what you do feels right for you. If something doesn’t feel right, change it. And don’t be afraid to try things that do feel right — even if you haven’t done them before.

The second big lesson I learned is not to be afraid to speak up if there’s something around you that you think should change. If you don’t take action, the problems will stay the same.

My favorite moments from the project were mostly the times I spent with the other volunteers outside of work — Halloween, playing in the snow, and our trips together.

One thing I wish I had known at the beginning is that the work schedule would change so often and that there would be so many events planned one after another. Other projects in Romania don’t seem to be this intense.

I definitely recommend this project to young people who want to join an ESC related to art, and who are interested in creating and exhibiting their own artworks. I think it’s a great opportunity not to be missed. But I wouldn’t recommend it to those who don’t like multitasking or who feel uncomfortable living with many people in the same house — it might be very challenging for them.

In the future, I’d love to join other ESC projects or find organizations in my own country that support these kinds of projects and help them.

I’m very happy that I got this opportunity. When I return to my country, I will miss every moment here — my friends, the memories, Cappuccino, every silly joke we made, the places we visited, and so much more.
