Arts Lab 7.0: Beyza Aksu | Month IV

This month was another very full and intense one. During the Midterm Evaluation in Bucharest, we had the chance to spend really high-quality time together. But most importantly, having our own rooms at the hotel felt amazing. I realized how much I had missed spending time alone and having some real “me time.”

Meeting new people from other projects and hearing about their completely different lives in Romania was truly inspiring. Also, I have to admit that the open buffet at the hotel was something I had really missed. Not having to worry about cooking and simply sitting down to a prepared meal felt very comforting.

After the evaluation, ten of us travelled to Budapest together. It felt like a dream. The city was incredibly magical, and every detail of it was fascinating. When we returned to Târgu Frumos, however, everyone felt a bit like a fish out of water. After spending so much free time travelling and exploring, it was not easy to immediately return to our previous routine. It took a little time to readjust to the rhythm of the project.

During the Cucuteni and Emotions residency, I worked together with Hedvika as teammates. It was a very productive and enjoyable week. We organized workshops with children and their parents, which was a really meaningful experience. We also visited the museum and then everyone started working on their personal artworks. For the exhibition, we embodied characters as if we were part of the Cucuteni civilization. The interactive parts of the exhibition were, in my opinion, very engaging for the visitors and attracted a lot of attention.

I should also mention the Spanish Night and Czech Night. Experiencing the cultures of different countries in such a direct and fun way is always exciting and very enriching.

Unfortunately, the worst experience of the month was that my computer suddenly broke. It happened at a completely unexpected moment, and honestly I still don’t know what I will do. Now I need to learn how to manage the rest of my time here without having my computer with me.

At the moment, we have started working on the Emotions Museum for the Open Heart Hub. I am curious and excited to see what this new process will bring and what experiences are waiting for us.image0.jpeg
