Youthpass competences in Arts Lab 3.0 - Krista Lipska

Imagine
Sometimes the final evaluation reports don't show us very clear what our volunteers learned during their volunteering experience in our organisation, this is the reason we go to check the extended Youthpass certificates.  Here is the learning journey in Arts Lab 3.0 of Krista. KEY COMPETENCES Based on the EU framework for Key Competences for lifelong learning (2018). MULTILINGUAL COMPETENCE   During this project I improved my English, as well writing and articles. I learned a little bit of Romanian language, so mostly I can understand what people around me are saying and being able to answer some basic questions in Romanian. Another thing that I learned to do better through this project is writing articles in English, to explain myself better and find an understanding between different level English speakers adapting myself to needs. I improved my listening skills, so I can communicate properly with my team and local volunteers, as were other people who were participating in A

Arts Lab 3.0: Krista Lipska - Little bit of everything

Imagine
Huge diversity of emotions, lots of ups and downs. A little bit of everything, sometimes maybe a bit too much and sometimes probably not enough. There is no one word, even a full sentence is not enough to describe how it felt, how it was and what this experience has given to me. Whole notebook with 350 pages has been filled with tasks, ideas, summaries, poetry and flow of thoughts and yet, not everything has been said in there. If memories and all the lessons would be stick-able to paper, surely it would take at least 5 times more space. All of it is truly precious, because some of them are captured in pictures, some of them are hiding in my small things left behind by my friends, small notes and vividly sparkly eyes kept in my memory as pictures of mind and soul. I am more than sure that without this experience I wouldn't have such a concentrated opportunity to lure out my strengths and get a better look into things that must be changed, a lot of skills picked up and full hands of

Arts Lab 3.0: Krista Lipska - Building the future

Imagine
January felt like a really long month, but at the same time every single day was flying at the speed of light. Most likely reason to feel like that was that January was overfilled with creating, finishing and working again and again on everything that is needed for a successful exhibition opening. But through this adventure together as a team, we have grown even more and at the same time finally we have learned to a greater extent than expected from each other, picked up new skills and resolved tasks, which were giving a lot of rebuses to work through. I am glad that we had such a productive and determined month, all together working for a greater purpose which will be living on for so many more years. It has been an honor to work on fundamental stones for future volunteer generations and professionally growing as a crew and individually. During this month, whether we want it or not, more often was emerging revelation of the present - just one more month is this set up, living all 4 to

Arts Lab 3.0: Krista Lipska - Time flies

Imagine
During December time flew so quickly, that I even didn’t have a moment of realization that it is gone. While I have been here perception of time periodically switches to another rhythm, which is not so close to the real time frame. In the middle of December calendar was showing me that I have been here for half a year – did it actually feel like it? I can assure you that not.  There is no way how I could measure time here in a certain way, because most of the time it feels that I have been here for such a long, long time – memories, flashbacks, and emotional footprints are left on so many streets, corners, places and in other people’s minds.  Although at the same time it feels that I haven’t been here long enough to get to know everyone as much as they deserve. It's half a year a lot or not so much? I guess it depends on how big a cut of time it’s been placed. If it’s about the amount of time spent away from family and friends in Latvia – it’s too much, but if reflect in a cut of m

Arts Lab 3.0: Krista Lipska - Cucuteni

Imagine
November for me started with coming back from Latvia and still enjoying aftertaste from seeing family and visiting home. As soon as I came back, we went to see 2 Cucuteni museums in Iași, learning more about this culture and getting inspiration, ideas for work on our own museum. The museum of ''Alexandru Ioan Cuza'' University was really impressive and pieces were nicely exhibited, placed the most flattering way, so interest can be hold and built up through whole exhibition. After seeing historical heritage of Cucuteni culture it was about the time to start working on pieces, ideas, sketches and visions, so one of my contribution pieces was creating face paintings for all involved artists. I was glad that I had an opportunity to work on creating themed and connecting recognizable markings for whole team.  As well continuing work with Mr. Ciobanu always is a pleasure and well spent time. He is really inspiring artist with sparkling energy overflowing him and fulfilling s

Arts Lab 3.0: Krista Lipska - my first exhibition

Imagine
October came and the exhibition opening was looking straight on us, so last preparation works, the best execution you can give to artwork for being brought into the audience and getting ready to present accomplishment in front of a public, to share the meaning behind, to inspire. For me, this was my first exhibition as a body painter, so I am glad that I had this opportunity because the opening was really good and visitors took us in with open arms and minds, enjoyed interactive parts, and gave us quite a lot of feedback on our creations.  Another positive piece was that we finally started learning from Mr. Ciobanu to paint so we can move to our next exhibition and collaborate on the topic of Cucuteni. Interacting with the painter brought a fresh feeling of inspiration, interaction, and energy going back and forth. Communicating, learning and breaking down boundaries to create something out of my comfort zone allowed me to step aside a bit and enter different horizons for self-explorin

Arts Lab 3.0: Krista Lipska - September' carousels

Imagine
September started with a lot of planning, creating structure and visualizing ideas for our one of the biggest events in youth centre – exhibition of all 5 international volunteers “Beautiful Fair Town - Târgu Frumos”. Each of us jumped into creative atmosphere and tried to combine that with rest of activities and workshops. Surely another important journey started – an opportunity to visit Mr. Ciobanu who is a painter and speak about future collaboration with him.  Surely Arts Lab Caravans still were done, so we had an opportunity to visit kind and warm-hearted children and teenagers in Zmeu and Corneşti to show how worthy are arts and self expression. And furthermore to see, how important and visible is the impact we are leaving behind. Autumn as usually brought me a lot of analyzing about what I have done through year and what should be improved. And surely, I have gotten to places which I even didn’t had in my mind – completely different country, having new adventures fulfilled wit
