Sports Activator - results

Sports Activator project involved two main transnational meetings in Romania: a seminar and a short term volunteering activity, which involved more than 60 participants from 6 organisations of Turkey, Spain, Greece, Bulgaria and Romania. Aiming to raise the awareness on the value of sport and physical activity in relation to the personal, social and professional development of individuals, Sports Activator managed to gather together the ideas, the skills and the passions for physical education, nutrition and sports of 60 sport teachers, trainers, youth workers, volunteers, coaches, people involved in sport clubs and different people with various backgrounds in the sports field. During the seminar, we created a toolbox with the methods, tools, games, activities and all the information that we all agreed on putting in there, for other youth workers or sport facilitators that would like to learn more about engaging youth in sport activities. Dissemination Events: Sports Activator in Canary Islands, Spain

Sara Lustres del Castillo Olivares organised a dissemination event for Sports Activator project in Canary Islands, Spain. Her activity involved approximately 15 girls from 4 to 11 years old who were taking Ballet classes. The activity was directed mainly to stretching and companionship games. It started with a game of clapping to get the children's attention. Also, they did basic stretching activities for most of the muscles in addition for trying to gain elasticity. After several exercises, another game was carried out where the children were divided into 2 groups where they had to write on a small cardboard the largest number of muscles they knew. In this way the brain of these children was encouraged. Another game that was also performed was that of the statue. They had to be in motion while the music was playing, once the music stopped they had to be still. At the end, the children were happy and they gave constructive comments about the activity.   Sports Activator is co-funde

Dissemination Events: Virtual Sports Activator in Greece

Iliana Kleitsogianni, Nazaria Karipidou, Anastasios Michael and Christina Kleitsogianni did an online dissemination using video calls because their country was quarantined. The Greek team was very happy that 22 children and teenagers took part in this activity. They started by talking about their experience in Romania and continued with information about Erasmus+ Sport Programme. After that, they debated about nutrition, good diet, healthy and unhealthy food. They discussed as well about sports and how gymnastic improve our health. Even if they made a video call, they managed to have good time together and to engage the participants in energizers and games.   Furthermore, the Greek team created a video about Sports Activator, sharing how is to go in a EVS experience, what is the impact of an Erasmus+ Sport project and about the experience achieved during Sports Activator project. Dissemination Events: Sports Activator in Barcelona, Spain

Ashta Amorós Abelló organised a dissemination event for Sports Activator project in Barcelona, Spain. Her activity involved 26 people between 4-14 years that were divided in three groups. The first group was composed by children between 4 to 5 years. Ashta played different games with them, such as: make a fruit salad, games with a ball, a game where they had to point at different colors, hide and seek. Afterwards, she taught them the name of different fruits and vegetables and they sang some songs together.    The second group was composed by children between 7 to 9 years. This group played the clapping game as an ice-breaker, the 1 to 7 game and musical chairs. They learnt some new vegetables and fruits. Also, they discussed about healthy lifestyle. For another activity she gave them a piece of paper with YES written on it and another with NO written on it. Dissemination Events: Sports Activator in Eskişehir, Turkey

Buse Karakaya organised a dissemination event for Sports Activator project in Eskişehir, Turkey. Her activity involved 22 people between 19-29 years and consisted in two parts. In the first part, Buse talked about Erasmus+ Sport Programme, Sports Activator project and her experience during the mobility. She showed to the students photos from the activities while she was talking about the countries of the others international volunteers. Also, she discussed about healthy lifestyle and she gave them a healthy pudding recipe. In the second part, Buse played with the students the games and energizers that she learned in Romania during the project. The participants said that they enjoyed Buse's activity and took notes about Erasmus opportunities. Dissemination Events: Sports Activator in Eskişehir, Turkey

Serkan Berber organised a dissemination event for Sports Activator project at Eskişehir University in Turkey. He presented Sports Activator to 30 students from the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports, that experienced the games that he learned in Romania during the seminar of July 2019. Dissemination Events: Sports Activator in Marmara, Turkey

Cengiz Arslan organised a dissemination event for Sports Activator project at Marmara University in Turkey. He presented Sports Activator to more than 25 students that discovered examples of non-formal methods and learned more about teamwork and about the games he designed in Romania together with the other international volunteers. In the last part of the event, Cengiz answered the student's questions about EVS projects and Sports Activator project. Also, he promoted the project's Facebook page and shared brochures about the EVS. After the event, he met other students in the university garden and shared information about healthy lifestyles and sports.    The impact of the dissemination activity made the voluntary activities heard and spread. Dissemination Events: Sports Activator in Antakya Hatay, Turkey

In Antakya, Hatay, Turkey, Sports Activator was implemented with 18 adults and 64 students, a total of 82 people participated. They were informed about the Sports Activator project that took place in Romania and about Erasmus+. They created a day dedicated to Sports Activator. As they were already aware of the value of sports activities, the event has been important to share different cultural activities. The dissemination had a good impact. 20 of Ebru Buz’s students took part of Sports Activator in Şanlıurfa, Turkey. Erasmus+ Programme and Sports Activator from Romania were presented in the first part. They discussed the importance of eating healthily and being active. Afterwards, the students took part in the sports activities prepared. Most of them showed an interest in the information regarding Erasmus+ and sports activities. Some were interested in improving their English and attending future Erasmus projects. Dissemination Events: Sports Activator in Sakarya and Istanbul, Turkey

Sports Activator was presented and discussed to raise awareness. Four people attended the dissemination, one of the individuals was visually impaired. Elif Nur Güngörmez is a member of the cycling group in Istanbul that involves visually impaired individuals to participate in long rides. Elif scheduled for Sports Activator a tour between Sakarya and Istanbul with two tandem bicycles. She applied the activities learned in Romania to motivate the participants to socialize and have fun. In İskenderun, Turkey, Sports Activator was held at a secondary school and high school. Duran Bilgin involved diverse local organizations, also a motocross team and planned activities such as motocross, football, volleyball and basketball matches. The event had a positive effect and enhanced self-confidence. At the activities there were involved more than 100 participants. Sports Activator was presented in Adana, Turkey, at school to 15 pupils and one teacher. It was prepared an introductory board that included the name of the project, the countries’ flags, photos from the project held in Romania and information regarding Erasmus +. Elif Ipek Demir mentioned that she shared her experience about the project and encouraged the participants to do more sports activities, eat healthier. Pupils had to share their thoughts by writing an essay, a poem or an article in English or Turkish. The participants offered positive feedback, they understood the importance of practising sports and having a healthy lifestyle. Dimitar Benev, the coordinator of the team from Gabrovo, Bulgaria, affirmed that 28 individuals with ages between 9-18 years old took part on the Sports Activator event, held in a local school. The young people were encouraged to adopt a healthy lifestyle and to do sports. The team chose the interactive method “learning by doing” and combined the method developed in Romania and local good practices to create sports activities. The event had a great effect on the participants. Pinar Çorbacioğlu held in Istanbul, Turkey, a conference at a school to talk about Erasmus+ Programme and Sports Activator.  Pinar shared with the public the experience that she had in Romania. During the discussion 20 people participated in which they learned more regarding the importance of eating healthily and being active. Afterwards, they all had a session of Yoga poses and of Zumba. The sports activities outdoor consisted in matches of Chinese football and frisbee.  At the end to every participant was given a sticker of sports activator. Dissemination Events: Sports Activator in Ioannina, Greece

Aliko Muska stated that in Ioannina, in Greece, the initial plan was to have the Sports Activator event with 4 teams of 7 people in order to held 4 games in 3-4 days, although it was difficult to find 28 individuals willing to participate. Even if many people were invited, the final number of participants was 14 in total. The whole schedule needed to be rethought and reduced at one day in which they had a great football match. The activities made the participants more active and helped them to socialize. Aliko shared his personal impression as a coordinator: ”I am very happy that I had the opportunity to organise such an event because before that I couldn't even imagine that I could pull such a thing out.”   During the dissemination was presented the Erasmus programme. Dissemination Events: Virtual Sports Activator in Portugal

Hugo Agra Gomes dos Santos and his team created an online Webinar about Family Health and Well-being. The city council had helped him to promote the event on their cultural agenda. On social media they had 17 days of promotion and the webinar was done from a recognized Local Business Habitat co-working space of the city, normally where creative/entrepreneurship projects born and are developed. They reached more than 1000 people via social media marketing actions, on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. They had more than 20 people participating on the event. The webinar was made on Zoom platform and all presented speakers were professionals with experience on the program topics.
