Arts Lab 4.0: Month V, Sara Torrijos - A complex experience

Imagine
In my first day of the fifth month I was in Cluj celebrating the new year with Federica, Chiara, Maja, Wasan, Ataota and other friends. It was really nice to visit Cluj, I really like the canal that cross the city and also seeing the Christmas decoration at night. It was really nice to spend time with my friends, getting warm with the typical spicy hot wine that are served in the Christmas market, enjoying street concerts and discovering the old city centre. When we arrived at home, in Târgu Frumos, I was really excited to see my cat, Tormenta. I was far from her for more than two weeks and I really missed her. She was good, only she lost a little weight from the stress of being away from me, but now is okay, totally perfect. Almost without realizing it, we started to prepare the next topic “Rroma Alternative Museum”. For this occasion, Chiara and I decided to collaborate and create a complex experience through the emotions with labs inspiring from magic, theater and emotional intellig

Arts Lab 4.0: Month V, Federica Colzani - My favorite one

Imagine
My fifth month in Romania started with the celebration of the new year in Cluj. We spent time together and we visited a beautiful city with a wonderful Christmas atmosphere.  After the trip we started to develop the Rroma Alternative museum: my purpose was to give value to Rroma artists that are too often marginalized. My students gave their interpretations of Rroma poems, paintings, sculptures, clothes and music using paintings and clay. Together with the canvas that I painted, this drawings took part in "Witch hunt" a small installation inspired by the work of the Rroma artist La Bas.  The topic was not easy because I really think that when you have to speak for a minority to which you don't belong,  you have to take a step back and listen them more than sharing your point of view. The final Rroma exhibition was my favorite one: I enjoyed the work from the beginning and having more time, gave me the chance to think more, connect more with the students, try more things a

Muzeul Memorial Evreiesc în aer liber - JEMOM

Imagine

Arts Lab 4.0: Month IV, Cihan - Strange

Imagine
When I started to write these notes, it felt a little strange that four months had passed since the start of the project. Time passed so fast on the one hand, and on the other hand, it felt strange as if I had been living here for a much longer time because of the many memories we had. This month's theme is Rromani culture. This work was an enjoyable process for me. We started the project by watching many documentaries in order to get to know the Rroma culture better. Afterward, we watched one of my favorite movies, "Time for the Gypsies" together. Then we held art workshops in a secondary school for two weeks to introduce the Rroma culture to children. In these workshops, I worked on Rroma music with children. We learned, played and sang songs together. And at the concert I will organize on the day of the exhibition, some of these children will sing the songs they learned. I think it will be great. For the exhibition day, I will give a violin recital inspired by the &quo

Arts Lab 4.0: Month IV, Maja Mörchen - 4 months in Romania

Imagine
4 months volunteering. 4 months in Romania. Technically a little bit less since I was home over Christmas. Still, more than half of my experience is over. We still don’t know exactly when we’re going to finish but right now I expect it to be the end of March. So two and a half months or one and a half museums remain. A lot has happened in this 4th month just as in the months before and probably also in the ones that are coming. As I said already, I went back to Germany over Christmas. It was definitely good to see friends and family again. I missed them and we spend good time together. Being home and also not having to work was really relaxing. But it was also weird to be back. I fell into old routines almost too easily and it kind of felt like I never left and all my experiences never happened. I think that’s because my life here and my life in Germany have basically no connection, like I’m living to separate lives. Before going back for Christmas we finished the Cucute
